Really Wild Bushcraft - Horrible Histories (New) - 3 hours

An exciting journey of activities, challenges and stories from throughout the ages from the Stone age to the Saxons, Vikings and the Romans. Learn and experience the skills of times gone bye from fire to shelter, hunting, gathering and living from the woods, to foods, medicines and even poisons too. Learn about some of the most strange and even terrible things people used to have to endure as they worked to survive in the past. Of course, whilst history can be horrible, at Wowo, this workshp ill be fun, exciting and just ankther great part of your time on holiday.

Old Skool Woodland Games (New) - 2 hours

Brilliant for all the family! Participants get to compete against each other for the honour of becoming "Champions of the Woods". Activities can include for example: The cheetah race/relay, really wild obstacle challenge, primitive sparks fire lighting sprint, the human knot, super javelin and spinning bolas competitions. This workshop will also include some old school favourites such as the 3 legged race, sack race, egg & spoon race, relay, walking backwards, 100m sprint, long jump, hurdles and wellie throw. Activities are adjusted for age groups or teams, so ideal for all the family!

Bushcraft - Stone Age Adventure (New) - 3 hours

Head back to 100,000 years BC and step into the forests where our ancestors first learned to spot and use the resources around them. Go back to an age when fire was first mastered, where foods and everything else that was needed to survive had to be found, made or foraged and learn some skills that you can be proud of. Packed full of bush craft lessons and games this workshop is wonderful for all the family!

New - Primitive Weapons and Foraging Adventure (New) - 2 hours

A wonderful workshop designed for all the family. Try out a host of primitive weapons and learn just how amazing our ancestors were at trying out new ideas, overcoming all the odds and working together in the wild. In this, our new and upgraded course, we've added in new weapons such as the bolas and sling shot on top of spears, throwing sticks and spear throwers. Participants learn these new skills, get to compete in tribes and also have time to try some amazing wild foods too. A great little session that you'll be sure to remember for a long time!

Camp Craft - 2 hours

A fun-filled session and a great opportunity to learn how to make shelters that will keep you safe and comfortable in the woods. Participants will experiment with natural and sometimes man-made materials to make the best camps they can. Learn the answers to key questions such as; do I even need a shelter? Where do I put it? What can I make it from? What design should I use? What if I’m just too tired? What if I have no string? And how should I do so safely? Whether you are a child or a grown up, this session is one that will leave you with skills you can use forever. And it’s a great one to share with your child!

Really Wild Games - 3 hours

An afternoon of total fun for kids and the young at heart! Ever heard of blind badgers, crazy foxes, hungry crocodiles and the lost antelope? If not, then come and join us at our woodland camp to take part in these and many other high energy and fun-filled outdoor games. We’ll have water pistols, ropes, blindfolds, hidden treasure, stalking games, chasing games, and much, much more. And by the way, as well as having loads of fun, you’ll learn a lot of great stuff about the environment too!

Bushcraft Adventure - 3 hours A safe and fun event!

A fantastic introduction to bushcraft! Learn about fire, shelter, water, wild foods, tracking and getting close to animals and how not to get lost in the wild. Packed with games and activities throughout, this mini-adventure will also take you on a wilderness trek and introduce you to the wonders of the natural resources and environment around you. It is a great introduction to bushcraft and the countryside and a brilliant opportunity for families and friends to do something together. Kids of all ages from 5 to 95 love it! An experience you are sure to remember for a very long time!

Wild With The Animals - 3 hours

Join us on this exciting adventure and learn lots about so many of the animals in the forest. You will learn about their lives (what they eat, how they behave and where they hang out), how to find them, how to track them and then how to get close to them too. You will learn how to stalk and creep up on them undetected and how to use your eyes in a special way just like the North American Indians. This session is great for those who want to be able to get closer to the animals around them . It is also designed for those who want lots of fun too as it is packed with a range of fun and entertaining games as well.

Learn a host of amazing new bush craft skills in a fun and exciting workshop in which participants will use their new found skills to find, collect and then use all they need to survive and thrive and then eventually escape from an imaginary island. Inspired by Bear Grylls' the Island, this is a great course to capture the imagination of young and old. Great for families, young ones and teens!

Introduction to Knife Craft - 2 hours

A must, especially for young people and adults who have never been taught how to use a knife properly and safely! Knife craft is a skill that was once part of every person's life but is now rarely taught. Here is a wonderful opportunity to learn about the joys of basic knife use and to make handy objects for use around the camp. Taught by a trained professional, the class is delivered in a safe and friendly environment. In addition to introducing a wide range of knife handling and cutting techniques, the session will also explain what makes a good knife and provide a brief overview of what the law says about knives too. The session and some of its carving projects are ideal for family and friendship groups as well and make for an excellent bonding experience! Places are limited so please book early.

The Really Wild Chef - 2 hours

Have you ever wondered how it would be to step out into nature to gather and cook your very own wild foods? Well now is your chance! Join our Really Wild Chef for a couple of hours and you will gain new knowledge that will last a life time. You will be introduced to the bounty of nature's table and be given the opportunity to prepare your very own backwoods meal using a variety of techniques around the camp fire. This is a fun and enjoyable session which is open to all the family. All food, fuel and utensils are provided, and guess what....there's no washing up to do at the end either!

Into the Wild - 3 hours

Into the Wild is a new activity that is especially good fun for groups of friends and families of all ages who'd like to find out how well they'd do if they ever had to live in the wild. It's an adventure with a twist! With the help of your Really Wild Instructor; your wits will be challenged to deal with any one of a number of exciting wilderness scenarios. You'll learn a great deal about how to thrive in harmony with nature and to work as a team and have loads of fun in the process too. By the end of the afternoon, you will have built a usable shelter, sourced and purified your own water, made a fire and gathered your own wild food.

Really Wild Bow Skills - 2 hours - £12

Using a bow is one of our most ancient skills. In this course, you will learn how to use a bow safely and accurately, aiming at targets and competing with your friends for the highest score. You may get to use a variety of bows from woodland made wilderness bows to the most modern ones too. Depending on numbers and age ranges, we may offer two different courses at once - one for the little ones and one for those who are older. Ideal for all the family!

Below 5yrs must be accompanied by a paying adult.

Primitive Weapons, Hunters & Gatherers Experience - 2 hours

Participants travel back in time to the stone age where they will learn to fend for themselves. In this session students divide into tribes, make up their own chants and compete in a fun set of activities. A range of weapons is used from the simple throwing stick to the spear, spear thrower (atlatl) and the bow. Throughout the session each weapon is evaluated for its effectiveness in hunting and defence; against a sabre toothed tiger, mammoth or humble squirrel for instance. In addition, participants learn about the need for a balanced diet and have the opportunity to try some wild foods along the way. (no animals are involved and messages about wildlife conservation are promoted in this session).

Foraging and Nature walk – Carving - 3 hours

Come and join Steve Shove on a foraging and nature walk that will take you through the woods and hedgerows at one of the most exciting times of the year. Taste succulent wild foods along the way, observe how nature is preparing for summer and learn a little about how the countryside has been managed to ensure it provides both a wonderful environment for us to enjoy as well as one that promotes biodiversity and sustainability.

Introduction to Woodcraft – Carving - 3 hours

Building upon the “Introduction to Knife Craft” experience, this session develops the use of the knife as a carving tool and introduces practical use of the bushcraft saw, hook knives, cabinet scrapers, and other tools and techniques useful to the wood worker. Craft items will be carved from green wood, each of which can be taken home with you to use, display or finish off – along with your certificate of achievement. An opportunity to borrow or buy knives and tools will be provided. If you have already found a piece of green wood you think would make a great bowl or spoon for instance, feel free to bring it along.

Family Bushcraft Day - Full Day (approx 7 hours)

This session really allows you and your family to enjoy a truly wonderful day together. In addition to a full range of bushcraft activities in the most beautiful of settings, you'll enjoy a delicious bushcraft meal cooked in a Dutch oven over the fire, have plenty of time to learn and master each bushcraft skill, and have the opportunity to work on projects that will really bring you all together.

The experience will cover a range of the following activities dependent upon the interests of the group – wild foods, natural cordage, tracking, backcountry cooking, firecraft, knifecraft, wild navigation, trees and plants, and a selection of woodland games and activities to make everything as much fun as possible.

The day is suitable for all ages and is designed for mum's dad's, boy', girls, uncles, aunts and grandparents, not to mention a friend or two, to really have fun throughout a day that will last in your memories forever. Food is included but please feel to bring your own and advise us of any allergies or other dietary requirements.

Tracking, Wildlife & Explorers' Adventure - 3 hours

Learn how to track then get to know which animals live where and how to find them in the wild! Learn about their tracks, resting places, homes, and other sign, and take part in a range of exciting tracking and stalking games. Full of fun, this session will end in a real live tracking adventure – finding signs of animals and people throughout the woods. The course will also introduce some natural methods of finding your way and not getting lost. Successful participants will earn a certificate of achievement to remind them of the skills they can use when next out in the woods. A great one for the family!

Natural Cordage Making - 1 hour

What happens when we have no rope or string and there's no shop nearby to pop into? We make it ourselves of course! The ancient art of making cordage from the natural materials around us is almost forgotten in everyday life. Well not anymore! Join this introductory session to learn just how to do it. You'll be surprised just how often you find yourself making cord when camping or wandering in the wild. It is great fun and an impressive skill to show your friends around the camp fire in the evenings. Earn a certificate of achievement in recognition of your new found skills. You may wish to bring gloves if you have them!

A Great Camp Fire - 1 hour

This this great little session will show you all you need to know for you to build and maintain a great campfire. No more hassle trying to get it alight or keep it alight, no more worries about the weather and it going out, know how to adjust your fire for cooking, and how to keep it in for a great party when you are back from other activities. Bring a few pieces of wood with you to practice these new skills, and your camp fires will never be the same again....they'll be fantastic!

Really Wild Explorers - Navigation Adventure - 3 hours

The session introduces a range of natural navigation techniques used by explorers throughout the ages. Use the sun, stars, time and the landscape and other techniques to find your way. Learn how not to get lost in the first place, what to do when you do get lost and how to blaze a trail into the wilds. Find out how you and others are likely to behave when becoming lost and how to use this knowledge to travel more safely when you next go on an expedition of your own.

Full of games and exercises, this session is a great one for the family. Complete your experience by taking part in a hunt for treasure and receive your certificate of achievement at the end.

We have deliberately left open a number of days and time slots within the published schedule of courses in order to cater for your own requirements.

A fantastic way to enjoy time with your friends and family, work mates , customers, affiliates or students dependent upon your requirements. These have proven an excellent way to celebrate a special occasion or to teach groups how to work better together whilst learning something entirely new and engaging within an environment that is simply wonderful!

If you are a teacher or leader of a group (e.g. cubs, scouts, ramblers, WI, Canoe club), here is a great opportunity to give your class or members a brilliant and informative day out. Simply call us to discuss your requirements and we will happily put together a programme for you that gives you exactly what you want.

Parties

What a brilliant way to celebrate a birthday or enjoy time outdoors with your friends or family!!! We have a range of activities you can choose from on the day e.g. fire craft, tracking, shelter, survival skills, or pretty much anything else the group would like to try from our range of bushcraft offerings. There is plenty of opportunity to let off steam for children in the woods and on our fields whilst allowing all to engage in exciting bushcraft activities as well.

Your party is tailored based upon the age and needs of the group and is run by trained professional(s) who are CRB checked and qualified in first aid and food hygiene. Please call us to discuss any ideas you feel may be of particular interest to the group.

Parties last for about 3 hours and can be provided with or without food. Food will invariably be cooked on the camp fire which is a great way to finish off the party perhaps with birthday singing and marshmallows on sticks too. Please advise us of any dietary requirements or food allergies. We are more than happy to cater for these!
