IMPORTANT NOTE RE CATERING – Hot and cold drinks and toasties/hot dogs served for breakfast, snacks and lunch by Really Wild Pop up cafe at th right hand side of the marquee. In the evenings from 5pm have Pizza on Monday and Tuesday, with Fish n Chips on Wednesday near the marquee. BRING Cash just in case the card readers don’t have reception in the field.
WHEN YOU ARRIVE: On arrival, park in the car park and make your way to the marquee in the Village area at the centre of the map below to check in with Really Wild and to collect your wrist bands. These will be needed for access to all activities and entertainment. Please do not pitch your tents in Lower Moat field as this is where activities will be based.

Hello from the Really Wild team,
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR THE HOME ED GATHERING – 14th to 17th September 2026 Welcome, and thank you very much for booking your tickets. We are so excited to be seeing you soon.
Catering: Our main caterer just had his van written off. We are urgently seeking alternatives but cannot guarantee we will have a caterer at some points during the daytime on some days.
Location

If you are driving north the site is on your left and marked with a sign called Wapsbourne Manor Farm. If you miss it, turn around at the Bluebell Railway. If you miss it travelling South, proceed to a mini roundabout about two or so minute’s drive away and turn around safely there.
PLEASE READ AND FOLLOW CAMPSITE RULES UPON ARRIVAL.
Arrival and Check In
Check in on Monday 14 September 2026 is from 11am please.
1 Please park your car first in the car parking area upon arrival, then make your way to our reception and registration area in the marquee within Lower Moat field.
2 There you will pick up your wrist bands which you will then need to wear at all times to gain entry to activities and entertainment. Adults must collect the bands. Please bring your booking email and a form of ID.
If you are a workshop provider, Gemma will have sent you special instructions to get your wristband. Please meet her at 10am Monday or 5pm Sunday if you arrived early. If you have not written a risk assessment you will be asked to put one together upon arrival, thank you.
3 Please then collect your car, set up camp and then re-park your car in the car park as they are not allowed to remain in the camping fields. This provides for a safer and more enjoyable environment for everybody to enjoy. The speed limit is 5 mph. Please drive very carefully.
Where and How to Set Up Camp
*** TENTS MAY NEED TO BE MOVED IF SET UP IN THE WRONG PLACE ***
DO NOT CAMP IN LOWER MOAT please even if you are arriving a day or so before the festival begins, unless you have been given specific direction by Gemma and the team who will have already contacted you personally. This is because Lower Moat is where most of the workshops, performances and evening catering will be set up, as well as the circus area too. You will be asked to move and probably very quickly if in the wrong place. There is a map of where activities are to be set up on the home ed page at www.reallywildbushcraft.com.
Note: Local authority planning rules affect where camping around fire pits is allowed. There are plenty of fire pits but please be aware of the following:
Cars and Vehicles
To help keep everybody safe and to maximise the areas in which children and families can play and socialise in, could you please do the following:
Volunteering
TEENAGERS – If your teenager would like to help volunteer with the running of the gathering or assist with bush craft or other workshops for example, please ask them to volunteer at the reception area in the marquee. If they do a great job we will happily write them a thank you and reference to take away.
WORKSHOP PROVISION – If you’d like to run any workshops, please also chat to our team on reception so we can look at organising this with you. Its a lovely community vibe and we’d love your input.
Booking Workshops
We will have a central reception and bookings area in Lower Moat field, on the left-hand side of the marquee as you approach it. Here you will find details of the workshops planned for the entire event.
Sign-up sheets will be put out twice daily for the following 24 hours’ workshops. We have lots of activities to choose from and have done our best to make sure there are as many places on each as possible, with most running on several occasions throughout the day and/or duration of the gathering. We will do our very best to keep enough spaces available for our day visitors, so please don’t worry if that is you. Our team will be on hand to help if things look booked up. Please don’t sign up on the off-chance you might attend, only if you will attend.
Welcome and Evening Performances
Please look out for for signs about our evening performances and gatherings after tea time each evening.
Catering and supplies
The event is predominantly self-catering with plenty of fire pits dotted around the site for your use.
There will be a caterer for EVENING MEALS sometime between 5pm and 8pm. e.g. fish and chips, pizzas and possibly curry. NOTE: Daytime catering cannot be guaranteed as of today due to the accident mentioned at the beginning of this message.
The campsite shop also has a lovely range of organic supplies and snacks, plus various other essentials.
Five minutes down the road, as you turn right from the camp site exit, there is a garage that also has a mini supermarket too.
Further afield, about 20 minutes away in Lewes or Haywards Heath are the usual super stores.
There are fridges for use by campers in the barn behind Wowo’s reception.
Firewood
Firewood and kindling can be purchased directly from Wowo reception. Wowo reception closes at 5pm.
Wi-Fi and charging electronic devices
The site has invested in Wi-Fi for those campers that need it. Access at reasonable rates can be bought from Wowo reception directly.
Wowo also have a secure facility to charge some phones. Inquire about this with them.
Electric Hook-Ups
There are no electric hook-ups.
Dogs
Dogs are allowed but they must be taken to Wowo reception to pass the “tummy tickle” test. They should also be kept on a lead at all times and any mess directly cleaned up and disposed of.
Other campsite rules
The campsite should be quiet by 10pm and there should be no amplified music, including car stereos or drums. This is due to planning rules and out of courtesy to the camp-site’s neighbours.
Safeguarding, health and safety
Please read and adhere to our policies on safeguarding and conduct at the bottom of our website www.reallywildbushcraft.com.
We ask that parents and carers keep an eye on their children and help out wherever possible to ensure great behaviour. Whilst we have a wonderful site, it is large, is accessible by members of the public, has areas of water, woodland, steep banks, trip hazards and is accessed by vehicles. As such please ensure youngsters are suitably aware and supervised.
If there are any medical, SEN or behavioural issues that we need to know about, please let your instructor or workshop provider know beforehand and do offer whatever help you can as a parent or carer in that regard.
Photography
If there is a very real reason for a member of your party not to be photographed, please email info@reallywildgroup.com before the event. We may then issue a different colour wrist band to that individual to help us spot them. It will greatly help us if we are OK to use media on our websites and social media for promotional and educational purposes as we don’t often have the opportunity to do so. Thank you.

Really Wild has developed a personal development programme of adventure weekends and expedtions to the Arctic to develop the wonderful characters, capablities, confidence and wellbieng of our home ed children. Please enquire if you are interested in this by emailing info@reallywildacademy.com and asking for Steve at reception.

Check in at the marquee for any updates during your visit and also use www.reallywildbushcraft.com to see the map etc.The programme will be there but will not be updated real time so do still check at the marquee.
